From winning first prize in the Swedish Photography Championship to my first photo exhibition, I have had lots to learn and plenty of things to prepare and do. I have today contacted the organizer to visit and check the walls out one last time and I will go there the 20th to do so. Note to self: Bring a ruler and camera! Until then I have a few moments to share my idea with my photo show. First of all, my main idea is not to sell my paintings even though they are for sale.
After a while it gets annoying. Men, unfortunately, have a tendency of thinking that the photo pages I'm on are also dating pages. It goes in waves but lately I have received quite a few messages from men who want to be "friends".
Some posts I don't even repspond to like "Hi, Hello, Hello dear, Hello gorgeous..." as I know where this is leading. A few years of experience now. Then there's the kind that write me saying they know it's not a dating website but... and then ask m
Lately I have had two bigger shoots and the last one was the kind that many photographers are living for. A big private event down in Malmö, Sweden. I had the honor of being the only photographer. Apart from having free access to (almost) all areas I also got to enjoy it all for free from the sideline - and get paid for it. It started off with a carneval theme, Brazilian drummers and beautiful ladies dancing in colorful and sparkly outfits in the late summer evening sun. What
I have had a few good photo shoots this year. Love when I get free hands to express my creativity in photography. I do listen to the customer's requests and then I interpret it my own way. So far I haven't had one disappointed buyer. I'm very happy. I have joined a new contest page called Photocrowd. Live voting but without the chance of seeing who's ahead of you for cheating purposes and in random order. It's much more fair and nothing like Gurushots. I recommend it.
It's been a while since I had anything specific happen at Viewbug but on the warmest day of the year so far (33 C in Borås, Sweden and it's May!!!), I finally received another finalist spot - with a winter photo. I really don't care. It is a very good photo and I'm proud of it. (Top 60 out of 58 000 submitted photos.) My little soft Robin. Keeping my fingers crossed now that it will go all the way. Tomorrow it's happening! My very first photo classes start tomorrow, one morning class and one evening class. I was hoping for partly cloudy but right now it looks cloudy all day. It will give me the opportunity to show that clouds aren't always bad for nature and landscape photography. (As long as it's not raining. I don't want their cameras to get wet.) My first group consists of four ladies. I'm so excited. I have planned this day in my head for such a long time and now as
Earlier this year I co-organized a car show in town. Midsummer Roll In. I have my own award where the winner receives a free photo shoot worth about $150 of his or her winner vehicle. Without competition a rare 1937 Packard caught my attention and after weeks of e-mailing back and forth, trying to find a date with sunny weather we both could meet on, we finally hooked up last Sunday. Gorgeous fall morning on a small country road in town, we spent a good hour talking and photo
