Patina of the year award performed
Earlier this year I co-organized a car show in town. Midsummer Roll In. I have my own award where the winner receives a free photo shoot worth about $150 of his or her winner vehicle.
Without competition a rare 1937 Packard caught my attention and after weeks of e-mailing back and forth, trying to find a date with sunny weather we both could meet on, we finally hooked up last Sunday.
Gorgeous fall morning on a small country road in town, we spent a good hour talking and photographing. And here's the result:
Anyhooo... What else has been going on? Well, it's fall and I have been trying to capture the color shifting landscapes with various results. I also learned I'm a finalist in yet another Viewbug contest. Don't know if it good or bad that it's the same photo that earlier was the finalist (meaning my other photos aren't that great) but I'm happy people like my "Early birds" so well. That photo reminds me of grandpa every time it does well as it was used for his funeral. But to me all my photos are open for individual interpretation. I'm just happy that my photographs invoke emotion in people. That's what sharing them is all about or I could have kept them to myself.
Last but not least, I have a new idea for a magazine. That's all I'm going to say for now. I need to plan it out some more and maybe create a layout to see if it works with my idea. Maybe I go through with it, maybe I won't. But now at least I have to give it ago as I publish this blog.
Feel free to send me a note if you want to ask me about anything (mainly photo related but give me a try, I might be in a good mood for a chat about anything. You never know).
